Main Purpose of Job

To ensure the implementation and maintenance of a functional Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) programme at the hospital level.

Key Responsibility Areas
  • Identify, mitigate and manage risks related to Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Investigate, analyse and interpret clinical data and act upon findings.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory bodies.
  • Identify training needs in the hospital and provide input in the development of training material.
  • Influence and equip hospital teams to understand and comply with IPC policies and principles.
  • Provide support with patient safety and quality improvement initiatives in the absence of the Patient Safety Manager.
  • Continuous professional development.
Required Education
  • Essential education: Nursing qualification (degree or diploma).
Desired Education
  • Formal IPC course / Post Graduate diploma in IPC.
Required Experience
  • Essential minimum experience: 3-5 Years working in a hospital environment as a professional healthcare practitioner.
