A leading consulting firm in Johannesburg is searching for an Industrial Technical Engineering Sales Manager. This role requires strong sales management skills and engineering knowledge to drive growth in the OEM and EPC industries. Candidates must have at least 3 to 7 years in a similar role, with a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Competitive salary of R40,000 - R60,000 plus commission and other benefits are offered, including a company vehicle and pension scheme deductions.

Industrial Technical Engineering Sales Manager

Industrial Technical Engineering Sales Manager with experience in OEMs+EPC Industry clients.

Location

Permanent Position in Johannesburg near Roodepoort. Must be able to start immediately. Relocation within commuting distance is required.

Qualifications
  • Mechanical, Electrical, or electromechanical engineering experience
  • National Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related)
  • Business Management / Sales Management qualification advantageous
  • Minimum 3‑7 years as a Sales Manager or supervisory role in engineering manufacturing company
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • Matric / Grade 12
Responsibilities
  • Drive sales growth and revenue targets across existing and new industrial clients (OEMs, contractors, EPC)
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in target industries (manufacturing, mining, energy, automotive, food & beverage, utilities, engineering firms)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industrial clients, OEMs, contractors, consulting engineers, distributors, and EPC companies
  • Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of sales professionals (internal & external) to achieve market share and revenue growth
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, industry trends, and emerging technologies
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and engineered solutions; support solution selling and technical product presentations with site visits
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, quotations, pipelines, and customer interactions; ensure compliance with CRM usage and tender processes
  • Oversee sales budgets, pricing strategies, discount structures, and profitability; collaborate with Finance on credit control, payment terms, and contract negotiations
  • Represent the company at customer sites, factories, and project locations; frequent travel within provinces and occasional cross‑border travel
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and skills development plans; recruit, onboard, and train new sales staff
  • Manage complex B2B sales cycles involving engineered/customised products, high‑value projects; close deals with strong negotiation skills
  • Reduce sales cycle times and improve conversion rates through process optimisation
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, stores, finance, and senior management for solutions and operational alignment
  • Track monthly, quarterly and annual sales KPIs; manage profitability and margin improvement
Working Conditions

Office‑based with frequent travel to customer sites, factories and project locations. Regular interaction with production, engineering, stores, finance and senior management. May involve travel between provinces and occasional cross‑border travel.

Compensation

Monthly Basic Salary: R40,000 - R60,000 (CTC) + Commission on top. Additional discretionary annual performance bonus.
