Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Buyer specialized in Industrial Supplies for our Richards Bay client. You will source, negotiate, and manage suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery and cost efficiencies for manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate holds a National Diploma in Supply Chain Management and at least 4 years' experience in industrial procurement, with ERP proficiency and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Buyer, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment, materials, and supplier markets.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate with, and manage suppliers of industrial machinery, raw materials, and consumables.
• Ensure procurement activities align with project timelines and operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and coordinate with stores and production teams.
• Conduct regular price benchmarking and explore cost-saving opportunities.
• Verify the quality and specifications of goods received against purchase orders.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
