Our client is looking for an experience Industrial Relations Officer in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, with 5 years’ experience.

You need to come from a manufacturing / production industry. You will be managing the relationship between employers and employees, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and promoting a harmonious workplace environment.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labour Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial relations or human resources, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Strong understanding of South African labor laws and industrial relations practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dispute Resolution – Mediate and resolve conflicts between management and employees, including grievances and disciplinary issues.
  • Negotiation – Represent the organization in negotiations with trade unions and employee representatives regarding collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with South African labor laws and regulations, including the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and Employment Equity Act.
  • Training and Development – Provide training to management and staff on industrial relations issues, including conflict resolution and labor law compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of industrial relations activities and prepare reports for management.
  • Advise management on industrial relations matters, including the interpretation of labor laws and collective agreements.
