Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support operations in Rustenburg. The role combines hands-on plant floor repairs with remote diagnostics and planning, with a focus on reliability and safety in an industrial setting.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, be able to diagnose complex issues, and commit to safe, efficient maintenance practices in a rotating shift and on-call capacity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical controls, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and hand/power tools effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on industrial machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions to minimise downtime.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics and manuals to guide repairs.
• Maintain records of maintenance, parts and work orders.
• Collaborate with production teams to preempt issues and improve reliability.

About the Role

Our client seeks a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support their operations in Rustenburg . This hybrid role involves both hands‑on repair and maintenance work on the plant floor, as well as remote diagnostic capabilities and planning. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of industrial machinery, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to emergency repair needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, the ability to diagnose complex issues, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence within the industrial sector of the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on industrial machinery, including preventative upkeep and repair.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and breakdowns, minimizing downtime.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to guide repair and installation processes.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and work orders.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify potential equipment issues and implement proactive solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems , electrical controls, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, multimeters, and hand/power tools effectively.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule and be on‑call for urgent repairs.
