The ideal candidate has a degree or diploma in OHS or related fields, with experience in monitoring equipment and data interpretation.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as an Industrial Hygienist or in a similar industrial role.
• Proficiency in using monitoring equipment for air sampling and noise measurement.
• Solid understanding of South African occupational health and safety legislation and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace inspections and assessments to identify health and safety hazards.
• Monitor environmental conditions using specialized equipment to measure air quality, noise levels, and temperature.
• Develop and implement control strategies to mitigate identified risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, monitoring data and corrective actions.
• Educate employees and management on health and safety practices and proper use of PPE.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial processes and potential risks, working collaboratively with safety officers and management to promote a culture of prevention. This is a key role in safeguarding the well-being of employees in manufacturing, logistics, and other industrial sectors along the KwaZulu-Natal coast.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace inspections and assessments to identify potential health and safety hazards, such as chemical exposure, noise pollution, and ergonomic risks.
• Monitor environmental conditions using specialized equipment to measure air quality, noise levels, and temperature.
• Develop and implement control strategies to mitigate identified risks, in line with regulatory standards.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, monitoring data, and corrective actions taken.
• Educate employees and management on health and safety best practices and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Investigate incidents and accidents, providing recommendations to prevent recurrence.

Requirements
