The role combines on-site layout development with remote design analysis, ensuring efficient, safe spaces for distribution centers and retail support facilities.

You will lead layout design, model material flow, create CAD drawings and simulations, and collaborate with operations, safety, IT, and logistics to deliver feasible, cost-conscious

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years' experience in industrial engineering with facility layout/design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Experience with Arena or FlexSim for simulations.
• Strong understanding of material handling, warehousing, and supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and redesign of facility layouts for distribution centers, warehouses, and other operational sites.
• Develop material flow and space utilization strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Create CAD drawings, 3D models, and simulation models of proposed facility designs.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, safety, and IT to gather requirements and ensure feasibility.

Our client, a prominent national retailer with extensive operations, is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer specializing in Facility Design to join their team in Polokwane, Limpopo. This role is critical for planning, designing, and optimizing the layout and workflow of our distribution centers and retail support facilities. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our physical spaces are efficient, safe, and conducive to smooth operational flow. This is a hybrid position, requiring regular on-site engagement in Polokwane for site assessments and collaboration, with flexibility for remote work on analysis and design tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong spatial reasoning, expertise in layout design principles, and a deep understanding of material handling systems and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
