Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with a Wireman's license.
• Minimum 5 years in industrial electrical maintenance.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and safety standards.
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of electrical maintenance team, assign tasks and monitor performance.
• Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all electrical equipment.
• Lead troubleshooting and repair of power distribution, motor controls, PLCs and instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee their electrical maintenance operations in Soweto, Gauteng, ZA . This leadership role is responsible for managing a team of electricians and technicians, ensuring the reliable and safe operation of all industrial electrical systems and equipment within the facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in industrial electrical maintenance, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs, managing spare parts inventory, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the daily activities of the electrical maintenance team, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance monitoring.
• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all industrial electrical equipment.
• Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
• Manage the inventory of electrical spare parts, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective procurement.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of electrical systems and work practices.
• Train and mentor maintenance personnel, fostering their technical skills and professional development.
• Collaborate with production and engineering departments to minimize downtime and support operational goals.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and team productivity.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with a Wireman's license and a strong track record in industrial settings.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motor control, automation, and instrumentation.
• Proven experience with PLC systems, VFDs, and diagnostic tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and risk management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Computer literacy, including experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
