Job summary
Continental in South Africa’s Eastern Cape seeks an Electrical Engineer to support industrial control systems in production areas and provide software support while ensuring cybersecurity and IT interfacing standards. You will collaborate with Central Engineering Teams to drive improvements.
You will standardise software on Industrial Computers, manage backups, enable remote access, and train engineering staff on MES interfaces, contributing to reliable manufacturing and digital service
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- ≥5 years C&D engineering experience in production industry.
- Experience in several machine improvement projects, refurbishment, upgrade or installation projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide industrial software support and system enhancements ensuring adherence to Digital Service, Cybersecurity, IT interfacing and Automation standard processes.
- Interface with Cental Engineering Teams for standardisation and upgrades.
- Standardise software installed on Industrial Computers (IPCs) including Backup and restore procedures, remote access administration and change management.
- Transfer knowledge and conduct 1st level support training on MES IT interfaces to relevant MTE Engineering personnel.
