Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
Minimum of 4 years in industrial automation and control systems design.
Proficiency with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
Strong understanding of robotics, motion control, and sensor technologies.
Experience troubleshooting complex automation systems.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment, onsite and remote design.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Automation Engineer to join their dynamic team in Nelspruit . This hybrid role focuses on enhancing manufacturing efficiency through the design, implementation, and optimization of automated systems. You will play a key role in upgrading existing production lines and integrating new technologies to improve throughput, quality, and safety. This position offers a unique blend of on-site technical work and remote strategic planning, allowing you to contribute significantly to the company's modernization efforts while maintaining a flexible work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement automated control systems for manufacturing processes using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation hardware and software in a timely manner.
Optimize existing automated processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize downtime.
Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to define automation requirements and project scopes.
Conduct feasibility studies and research new automation technologies to enhance production capabilities.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including P&IDs, electrical schematics, and sequence of operations.
