Job summary

St Cyprian’s School is seeking enthusiastic Water Polo Coaches to join our Sports programme from January 2027. We seek individuals who love the game and enjoy working with young people, focusing on confidence, skill, teamwork and a genuine enjoyment of sport.

The successful candidates will work with our Prep School and/or High School Water Polo teams, helping students develop technically and as team members.

Qualifications

• Coaching water polo for school-age students.
• Experience with youth development and mentoring.
• Ability to plan age-appropriate training sessions.

• Coaching Water Polo teams across the Prep and High School.

• Preparing teams for fixtures and competitive play.
• Attending and supporting matches.
• Accompanying teams to tournaments and tours where required.

St Cyprian’s School is looking for enthusiastic and committed Water Polo Coaches to join our Sports programme from January 2027.

We are looking for people who love the game, enjoy working with young people and understand that good coaching is about far more than what happens in the pool. It is about building confidence, skill, discipline, teamwork and a genuine enjoyment of sport.

The successful candidates will work with our Prep School and/or High School Water Polo teams, supporting students to develop both technically and as members of a team.

The Role

• Coaching Water Polo teams across the Prep and High School;
• Planning and facilitating engaging, age-appropriate training sessions;
• Preparing teams for fixtures and competitive play;
• Attending and supporting matches;
• Accompanying teams to tournaments and tours where required; and
• Contributing positively to the wider St Cyprian’s Sports programme.

We would particularly love to meet someone who...

• Have relevant Water Polo coaching qualifications and/or strong current Water Polo playing experience;
• Are a current Water Polo player or student with the maturity and enthusiasm to develop as a coach;
• Relate well to students and understand the importance of encouragement, clear expectations and positive role modelling;
• Are reliable, organised and able to work collaboratively with other coaches and members of the Sports Department;
• Are available for morning and afternoon training sessions;
• Are able to attend matches and, where required, weekend tournaments and tours;
• Are available to commence in January 2027.

Previous coaching experience would be advantageous, but we are equally interested in people with strong Water Polo experience, the right attitude and a genuine desire to develop young players.
