A leading consultancy in Cape Town is seeking an Independent Review Consultant to ensure the accuracy of review work and manage client relationships. The ideal candidate has completed SAICA articles, holds a BCom degree (PGDA/CTA advantageous), and is proficient in CaseWare and MS Excel. This role involves teamwork on review engagements, client liaison, and training junior staff. Competitive remuneration offered.
We are currently looking for an Independent Review Consultant for our Cape Town or Johannesburg office.
The role of Independent Review Consultant includes, but is not limited to, ensuring the accuracy of the Independent Review work for which you are responsible, to report to and help the Assurance Directors provide excellent client service.
Below is a guideline of the role and responsibilities, qualifications and requirements.
Completing engagements within budget and deadlines which may include work outside of normal business hours.
Charge required hours.
Effective management of administration responsibilities.
Relationship development and management with key clients.
Form part of an Independent Review team and assist in Independent Review engagements from the planning of an Independent Review engagement through to the clearing of the queries and finalisation of the Independent Review engagement.
Attend any meetings related to Independent Review engagements for which you are allocated.
Assist in training employees more junior to you in relation to Independent Review work.
Tracking your own budget and time spent on assignments, as well as budgets and time spent of any employees reporting to you on an engagement.
Ensuring that your planning board, and time recording system, is a true reflection of your activities.
Liaising with clients.
Any administration requested by an Assurance Director, Senior Manager, Manager or Associate which is related to the performance of an Independent Review function, or the functioning of the Independent Review department.
Must have completed SAICA articles.
The minimum requirement is a BCom degree, however, a PGDA / CTA will be considered an advantage.
Must have working knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SMEs.
Proficient with CaseWare and MS Excel.
Take keen interest in the development of all staff more junior to you.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to say "no" (at appropriate times) and to prioritise.
Attention to detail, i.e. accuracy is essential.
High energy level.
Good professional judgement.
Critical thinking skills.
Ability to assess information and identify inconsistencies.
Data interpretation : understanding financial, operational, and qualitative data.
