Job summary

AECI Mining Chemicals in Secunda seeks a hands-on assistant to support lab operations and site servicing across multiple plants. You will help with sample taking, deliveries, inventory control, and weekly/monthly reporting.

On-site duties include assisting with lab testing, standing in for Lab Analyst during leave, placing orders for reagents, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring housekeeping and safety meetAECI standards.

Qualifications

• Matric with Science and Maths.
• National Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
• Experience with water treatment processes.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist service specialist with site servicing (sample taking, deliveries, inventory control, and reports).
• Standby to support Lab Analyst and assist with lab testing when required.
• Place orders for lab reagents and chemicals and maintain stock levels.
• Ensure housekeeping and safety in the Lab and on sites meet standards.
• Follow risk assessments, safe work procedures and ensure EHS compliance.

Purpose of the Job

To assist in the lab and service and management of various plants in Secunda

Required outputs: Functional

• Assist service specialist with Site Servicing (sample taking, deliveries, inventory control, monitoring, compile weekly service and monthly reports when required)
• Responsible for assisting with lab test work and will be standby when Lab analyst is on leave
• Assist with placing of orders for lab reagents and/or chemicals and that correct stock levels are maintained
• Ensure housekeeping and Safety on both in the Lab and on sites are always up to AECI standards
• Comply to all safety rules, ensure all risk assessments and safe work procedures are in place
• Ensure that we are EHS compliant (as per SHE plan) and that housekeeping is in order

Qualifications and expertise required (Must)

• Matric (Science and Maths)
• National Diploma (minimum) - Chemical Engineering
• Expertise related to Water Treatment
• Valid Driver’s License
