Placements24 is seeking an In-House Counsel in George with a focus on Commercial Litigation. You will develop litigation strategies, manage external counsel, and provide practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders on disputes affecting the business.

The role requires Admitted Attorney status with 5+ years in commercial litigation and strong civil procedure knowledge in South Africa. You will work independently in a demanding environment in the Western Cape.

Qualifications

Admitted Attorney with 5+ years in commercial litigation.
Experience managing complex litigation from inception to resolution.
Strong understanding of civil procedure and evidence law in South Africa.
Ability to work independently and manage a demanding caseload.
Membership in the relevant Law Society is required.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute legal strategies for commercial disputes and litigation.
Manage all aspects of litigation, from initial assessment to settlement or trial.
Liaise with external legal service providers and counsel.
Provide timely and practical legal advice to internal stakeholders on litigation risks.
Draft pleadings, applications, and other court documents.
Monitor legal developments and advise on their potential impact in George.
