This senior role focuses on developing campaigns, managing media relations, and driving public engagement to support the mission within the non-profit/public sector landscape.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in communications, public relations, or advocacy.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing campaigns.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and public speaking skills.
• Strong media relations, social media, and digital communications knowledge.
• Experience in policy analysis and advocacy engagement.
• Ability to think strategically and manage complex projects.
• Familiarity with Sandton business and policy landscape is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive communications and advocacy strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Manage internal and external communications, including media relations, social media, website content, and publications.
• Craft compelling messages to raise awareness and mobilize public support for key issues.
• Lead advocacy efforts with policymakers, stakeholders, and the public to influence policy change.
• Oversee brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across platforms.
• Manage crisis communications and address reputational risks.
