Job summary

Placements24 in Klerksdorp is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist with a specialization in Immunology to join our dynamic R&D team. You will design and execute experiments focusing on immune cell function and immunomodulatory studies.

The role involves developing assays, analyzing flow cytometry and cytokine data, and collaborating across disciplines to advance novel immunotherapies. Strong communication and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

PhD in Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
3-5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in immunology research.
Hands-on experience with immunological techniques: flow cytometry, ELISA, western blotting, cell-based assays.

Responsibilities

Conduct experiments to investigate immune cell activation, differentiation, and effector functions.
Develop and optimize assays for cytokine production and immune cell interactions.
Analyze immunological data including flow cytometry and multiplex assays.
Contribute to study design evaluating immunomodulatory compounds.
Maintain laboratory notebooks and prepare reports of findings.
Collaborate with scientists to integrate immunology with other research areas.
