Maersk Contract Logistics invites applicants to join its Industrial Engineer Graduate Programme in Cape Town. The 12‑month program blends formal learning with structured workplace rotations across warehousing and distribution environments.

You will learn through hands-on exposure to cross-dock, ambient warehousing, and cold chain facilities, while developing skills in data analysis, KPI reporting, process mapping, and continuous improvement with mentoring support.

Qualifications

• Industrial Engineering degree (or final year) with a strong academic record.
• Analytical, problem-solving and process-thinking abilities.
• Strong interest in logistics, supply chain and operational excellence.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• South African citizenship and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end analysis and improvement of inbound, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, cross-dock and inventory processes.
• Collect and analyse operational data to identify constraints, waste, variation and improvement opportunities.
• Conduct time studies, work measurement, process mapping, capacity analysis and productivity assessments.
• Support inventory accuracy through cycle-count analysis, reconciliation and stock integrity reviews.
• Work with KPI definitions, data quality, WMS reporting, dashboards and standardisation.
• Support Solution Design and Implementation workstreams with planning and handover activities.
• Participate in Lean, 5S, Kaizen and continuous-improvement activities and documentation.
