Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer for a prominent research institution in Kimberley, Northern Cape. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining IAM solutions to ensure appropriate access to resources.

You will manage SSO, MFA, RBAC and lifecycle processes, integrate apps with the central IAM, enforce security policies, and collaborate with IT teams to support secure deployments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of IAM engineering experience.
• Experience with SSO, MFA, RBAC, and identity lifecycle management.
• Hands-on with configuring and managing enterprise IAM solutions (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, Ping Identity, SailPoint).
• Understanding of directory services (e.g., Active Directory) and protocols like SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
• Experience with scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of South African data privacy regulations is beneficial.
