Job summary

Sappi seeks a Technician – Hydraulics to install, maintain, and modify complex hydraulic and lubrication systems, boosting plant reliability and OEE. You will manage oil sampling, investigations, and documentation while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Required: Grade 12 with N3, a Mechanical Fitter/Millwright trade certificate, a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years hydraulics experience, and a valid licence. SAP experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) with N3 Engineering.
• Recognised Trade Test Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter or Millwright.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Hydraulics.
• Roll service experience will be advantageous.
• Valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment and comply with SHEQ standards.
• Modify, install, commission, and optimise hydraulic and lubrication systems to improve plant reliability.
• Configure hydraulic components to enhance equipment performance and engineering efficiency.
• Investigate hydraulic and lubrication failures and implement corrective actions.
• Manage oil sampling programmes and implement recommendations to improve reliability.
• Maintain hydraulic schematics and engineering documentation, and coordinate modification requests.
