Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer to drive the design, development, and integration of solar and other renewables in Upington. You will contribute to the performance and reliability of electrical systems for renewable power projects.

Key responsibilities include designing systems, performing load studies, creating diagrams, and overseeing on-site installation and testing, with adherence to NRS/IEC standards. Travel to project sites is required in a hybrid capacity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a renewable energy focus or interest.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical engineering, with solar PV or renewables.
  • Knowledge of power electronics, grid-tied inverters, and energy storage systems.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and site execution.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for renewable energy installations (solar PV, storage, grid integration).
  • Perform load calculations, power studies, and energy yield assessments.
  • Develop single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and equipment specifications.
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical components on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations.
