Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support pharmaceutical development in Centurion. This hybrid role blends hands-on lab work with collaboration with senior scientists to advance drug discovery and formulation projects.

You will perform experiments, maintain equipment, and document results in detailed records, with opportunities for on-the-job training in a cutting-edge R&D environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or academic setting.
• Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
• Experience with spectrophotometry and chromatography is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions precisely and work meticulously.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory tasks including sample preparation, solution preparation, and cell culture.
• Conduct experiments under the guidance of senior scientists, following established protocols.
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, documenting all experimental procedures and results.
• Assist in the characterization of drug candidates using various analytical techniques.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained, and in good working order.
• Support inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies.
