Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer to contribute to cutting-edge AI initiatives in Polokwane. You will design, build, and deploy ML models and systems that solve complex business problems and enable new product capabilities.

You will work closely with data scientists and software engineers to translate research into production-ready solutions, optimize model performance and scalability, and stay current with advancements in ML and deep learning.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency with ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their ML services.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with MLOps principles and tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models into production environments.
• Build and maintain scalable ML pipelines for data processing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
• Collaborate with data scientists to iterate on model designs and optimize performance using techniques like hyperparameter tuning.
• Implement robust monitoring and logging for ML systems to ensure reliability and identify issues.
• Write high-quality, production-ready code in Python or other relevant languages.
• Stay current with advancements in machine learning and deep learning research and applications.
