Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Worker to join their Family Services team in Tembisa. This hybrid role combines in-home family support with community engagement, delivering counseling, resources, and intervention strategies to promote family stability and well-being.

The successful candidate will engage with families, coordinate with external agencies, and maintain detailed client records while adhering to SACSSP standards.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in Social Work or related field.
• Registered with SACSSP.
• Proven experience working with families and children in a community setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of family needs, identifying strengths and areas requiring support.
• Provide individual, family, and group counseling services to address behavioral, emotional, and relational issues.
• Develop and implement tailored intervention plans in collaboration with families and relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate access to community resources such as housing assistance, financial aid, and educational programs.
• Prepare detailed case reports, document progress, and maintain accurate client records.
• Respond to crisis situations and provide immediate support and safety planning.
