Placements24 is recruiting a Communications Intern for a hybrid role based in Mahikeng, North West. You will support the communications team with content creation, media monitoring, social media management and event support, gaining hands-on experience in corporate communications.

The ideal candidate is currently pursuing or has completed a Bachelor's in Communications or a related field, with strong written and verbal communication skills and a proactive, learnable attitude.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
• Basic understanding of PR and corporate communications principles.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
• Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be able to commute to Mahikeng, North West for office-based work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting and editing internal and external communications, such as newsletters, intranet content, and social media posts.
• Monitor media coverage and industry news, compiling daily or weekly media clips.
• Support the management of social media channels by scheduling posts and engaging with followers.
• Help organize and coordinate internal and external communication events.
• Conduct research on communication trends, competitor activities, and relevant industry topics.
• Provide administrative support to the communications team, including scheduling meetings and managing documents.
• Assist in creating presentations and reports for the communications department.
• Learn and apply company communication policies and brand guidelines.
• Contribute ideas for new communication initiatives and campaigns.
• Shadow communications professionals to gain broader insights into the field.
