Placements24 seeks a Chemical Engineer to join its Research & Development team in Benoni. The role focuses on bringing novel ideas from concept to tangible results, including lab experiments, process modeling, and pilot-scale testing in a hybrid lab/office setting.

You will work with chemists, material scientists, and manufacturing staff, contributing to IP development and technological advancement within a dynamic, innovative environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering required.
• 3–7 years in chemical R&D or process development.
• Proven experience with laboratory techniques and experimental design.
• Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of reaction engineering and separation processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and creativity in developing novel solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments to develop and optimize new chemical processes and products.
• Design and execute pilot plant trials to validate laboratory findings.
• Utilize process modeling and simulation tools to predict performance and identify design improvements.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare detailed technical reports.
