Humanities & Creative Arts Teacher (2026)

Skye College, a thriving Christian-centred learning community in Honeydew, Johannesburg, is seeking a passionate and committed Humanities and Creative Arts Teacher to join our team in 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who believes in nurturing the whole child, fostering a sense of wonder, and preparing students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Humanities and Creative Arts to Grade 7–8 students and help prepare them for future IGCSE and AS Level pathways, particularly in History and Environmental Management. The role includes contributing to The Thriveway, our holistic approach to developing habits, character, competencies, and deep learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Humanities and Creative Arts.
  • Provide clear learning goals, feedback, and progress tracking.
  • Implement effective instructional strategies, including direct instruction, deepening, and application lessons.
  • Differentiate learning and support students who need additional help.
  • Build strong relationships and maintain a safe, warm, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Promote critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and 21st‑century skills.
  • Support student wellness, uphold restorative practices, and reinforce positive behaviour.
  • Participate actively in professional learning communities and ongoing development.
  • Contribute to co‑curricular activities and broader school initiatives.
