Job summary

A local management firm in Gqeberha is seeking an IR / HR & Payroll Coordinator responsible for managing payroll and HR functions. The candidate must have a diploma in HR or related fields and experience in payroll processing, particularly with Sage Payroll. This is a temporary position from November 2025 to March 2026.

Job Overview

A vacancy exists for an IR / HR & Payroll Coordinator at SNAGG Management (Pty) Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supporting all Human Resources, Industrial Relations, and Payroll functions to ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, MIBCO, and company policies. The role includes maintaining accurate employee data, processing payroll in a timely and compliant manner, and supporting management and employees with HR and IR-related matters.

Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 (occasional overtime or after-hours support as required)

Break: 30 lunch

Market-related, based on qualifications and experience

Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Administration
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records (electronic and hard copy) in line with POPIA and BCEA requirements
  • Prepare employment contracts, renewals, and terminations
  • Manage onboarding and induction of new employees
  • Track probation periods, medicals, and expiry of employee documentation
  • Support managers with HR-related queries and procedural guidance
Time & Attendance Management
  • Collect, verify, and reconcile timesheets for accuracy
  • Track absenteeism, late arrivals, and leave records
  • Manage Uniclox Time and Attendance System for applicable sites
  • Calculate shift allowances, overtime, standby, and reimbursements in line with BCEA or MIBCO provisions
Industrial Relations (IR)
  • Implement and maintain fair labour practices as per the LRA and Code of Good Practice
  • Draft and issue disciplinary documentation and maintain IR registers
  • Coordinate disciplinary hearings, grievances, and appeals
  • Represent or prepare cases for CCMA conciliations and arbitrations
  • Advise management on disciplinary processes and maintain an IR tracker
Payroll Processing
  • Prepare and process monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
  • Capture and verify all variable inputs (hours, overtime, bonuses, deductions)
  • Reconcile payroll registers and verify totals before submission
  • Generate and securely distribute payslips
  • Process new employees, terminations, and salary adjustments on Sage Payroll Professional
  • Prepare EMP201, UIF, and SDL submissions and assist Finance with payroll reconciliations
Statutory Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, EEA, SD Act, UIF, COIDA, and POPIA
  • Assist with Employment Equity (EEA2/EEA4) and Skills Development (WSP/ATR) submissions
  • Prepare HR and payroll reports (headcount, absenteeism, overtime trends, IR cases, salary costs)
  • Support internal and external audits
HR Projects & General Support
  • Participate in HR initiatives such as wellness days, training plans, and staff engagement
  • Support management with workforce planning, recruitment, and retention strategies
  • Improve HR and payroll systems, templates, and reporting tools
Minimum Qualifications
  • National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Payroll Administration
Experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an HR & Payroll role (preferably within manufacturing, automotive, or service industries)
  • Experience with Sage Payroll Professional and Uniclox Time and Attendance System
