About the Role

The role requires a Grade 12 (Matric) and a Degree or Diploma in Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or equivalent qualification. The candidate should have a minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in both HR and IR functions, preferably within the construction, mining or unionized environment.

Responsibilities
  • Human Resources (HR):
  • Support HR operations including onboarding, terminations, and employee record management.
  • Support with administrative tasks relating to the HR function
  • Facilitate bulk HR inductions for new site-based employees.
  • Assist in recruitment and selection processes by reviewing CVs, coordinating interviews, and ensuring fair hiring practices.
  • Maintain HR documentation and ensure compliance with internal procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Support payroll administration and benefits-related queries where required.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly IR and HR reports for management.
  • Provide guidance during Department of Labour inspections (BCEA, OHSA, etc.).
  • Contribute to developing and updating HR and IR-related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Assist in the development, review, and implementation of labour relations policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Degree or Diploma in Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in both HR and IR functions, preferably within the construction or unionized environment.
Required Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA, OHSA) and Bargaining Council agreements (BCCEI advantageous).
  • Computer literate (MS Office Suite).
  • Valid Driver’s License and own transport.
  • South African citizen with no criminal record.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (fluent in English and Afrikaans; additional languages advantageous).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.High level of integrity and professionalism.
