Position Objectives

The HR Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of efficient, compliant, and people-centred HR operations across the Kyalami Schools Group. Working closely with the Head of Organisational Culture and People, the incumbent will ensure consistency in HR administration, recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement across multiple campuses. This role demands a detail-oriented professional with strong technical skills, a service mindset, and the ability to uphold KSG’s values of integrity, inclusion, and excellence in every aspect of HR practice.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Administration and Systems
  • Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files for all campuses.
  • Administer employee contracts, letters, and payroll documentation.
  • Manage leave systems, attendance registers, and time-off tracking.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of the Group’s HR Information System (HRIS).
  • Support HR documentation and workflows using Google Workspace tools (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms).
2. Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising, shortlisting, and interview logistics.
  • Prepare employment offers and onboarding documentation.
  • Ensure new staff induction aligns with the Group’s cultural and policy standards.
3. Performance and Compliance
  • Assist with the annual performance review process, ensuring documentation and timelines are met.
  • Track staff development and performance management documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all HR policies, employment legislation, and POPIA requirements.
4. Policy Implementation and Communication
  • Provide administrative support in policy updates and dissemination.
  • Serve as first point of contact for staff queries on HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the HR policy repository and ensure all campuses have current versions.
5. Employee Engagement and Support
  • Support the roll-out of wellness, engagement, and recognition programmes.
  • Assist with coordination of staff events, communication campaigns, and internal surveys.
  • Provide logistical support to culture and transformation initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in an HR administrative or generalist role (experience in education advantageous).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, HRIS platforms, and data management systems.
  • Working knowledge of the Google ecosystem (e.g. Google Workspace, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms)
  • Sound knowledge of labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EE Act, POPIA).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication abilities.
