Our client, a well-established plastics manufacturing concern, is seeking to appoint an HR Manager based in Roodepoort, Gauteng

The HR Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with overall business objectives. The role requires strong expertise in industrial relations, workforce planning, payroll, and compliance with relevant labour legislation and bargaining council regulations. The HR Manager will play a key role in driving training and development initiatives, fostering a positive workplace culture, enhancing employee engagement, and supporting organisational effectiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with labour legislation, bargaining council regulations, ISO standards, OHS, Employment Equity, and BBBEE requirements.
  • Manage industrial and employee relations, including union engagement, grievances, disciplinary processes, and dispute resolution.
  • Lead and manage the HR team, while providing labour law guidance and training to management.
  • Develop and implement recruitment, workforce planning, and succession strategies aligned to business needs.
  • Drive performance management, training, and skills development initiatives to support employee growth and productivity.
  • Oversee payroll processes and employee benefits, ensuring accuracy and legislative compliance.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through employee engagement, retention, and diversity initiatives.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, provide strategic HR advice, and monitor key HR metrics.
  • Matric.
  • Relevant 3-year qualification (Degree in Human Resources Management or similar).
  • 3–5 years’ HR generalist experience.
  • Sound knowledge of the LRA, BCEA, Employment Equity, Skills Development, and BBBEE legislation.
  • Familiarity with MEIBC requirements.
  • Previous HR management experience within a manufacturing / plastics environment will be advantageous.
  • Experience in implementing HR structures and managing industrial relations in a factory or plant environment will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing HR policies, procedures, job profiles, and performance management frameworks aligned with business objectives is preferred
