The successful candidate will establish the HR department and manage functions for the head office and regional warehouses. Windmeul Eggs, situated between Northern Paarl and Wellington, has an opportunity for an HR Manager with excellent interpersonal & organisational skills, paired with the ability to take initiative and work independently, to join their growing team.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to set up the HR department within the organisation, and manage the HR function for the head office as well as the regional warehouses.

The incumbent will report to the Managing Director, and be responsible for:

Management Committee (MANCO)
  • Serving on MANCO and prepare meeting materials (presentations, summaries, agendas)
  • Recording and distributing minutes
  • Reporting on HR activities
  • Providing strategic advice to the Managing Director on staff movements.
Personnel Management
  • Managing recruitment, onboarding, and exit processes
  • Handling all personnel administration
  • Developing and implementing performance and bonus systems
  • Overseeing training and development
  • Managing disciplinary processes
  • Controlling access management and the clocking/timekeeping system.
Legal Compliance
  • Ensuring compliance with labour legislation
  • Providing contracts and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
  • Implementing and monitoring Employment Equity (EE)
  • Managing BBBEE certification process
  • Serving as primary contact for HR audits
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • All other duties related to the position.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in HR or a similar field;
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role in the agricultural or manufacturing sectors;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel essential) and Sage VIP;
  • Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation;
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.

Commencement date: January/February 2026
