Position Overview
The Senior HR Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing strategic human resources initiatives to support the company's overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the business plan and long-term growth objectives. Provide strategic input to executive leadership on organizational development, workforce planning, and change management.
- Talent Acquisition & Management: Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes, ensuring attraction and retention of top talent. Implement succession planning, career development, and leadership programs to build internal capability.
- Employee Relations & Compliance: Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation, BCEA, LRA, EE, Skills Development and OHS requirements. Provide guidance on complex employee relations issues, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution.
- Performance Management: Drive the design and implementation of performance management frameworks (KPIs, balanced scorecards, etc.). Support managers in performance reviews, coaching, and talent development initiatives.
- Compensation & Benefits: Oversee remuneration structures, incentives, and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and internal equity. Conduct regular benchmarking and manage payroll compliance in collaboration with Finance.
- Learning & Development: Design and implement training and development programs to upskill employees and meet SETA / Skills Development requirements. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- HR Governance & Reporting: Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and systems. Provide accurate HR analytics, reporting, and insights to management for informed decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
- HR Degree (BCom HR Management / Industrial Psychology or equivalent) – essential.
- Postgraduate qualification in HR or Business Management – advantageous.
- Minimum of 10 years progressive HR management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience within the financial services sector or a highly regulated industry.
- In-depth knowledge of South African labour laws, HR best practices and HR systems.
