Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations & Performance Management
    • Partner with employees to resolve complex employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and workplace conflicts in accordance with South African labour legislation.
    • Support managers and employees through probationary period assessments and performance improvement processes.
    • Conduct comprehensive exit interviews to identify trends and recommend retention strategies.
    • Facilitate and coordinate performance management discussions.
  • Engagement & Culture
    • Design and implement employee engagement surveys and focus groups to gather meaningful feedback.
    • Analyze engagement data to identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans.
    • Create and execute engagement initiatives that strengthen our workplace culture.
    • Assist in internal communications to promote company values and engagement opportunities.
  • Business Partnership
    • Build trusted relationships with employees while managing expectations and delivering exceptional service.
    • Support key HR processes including onboarding, talent development, and offboarding.
    • Collaborate with the Talent team on strategic initiatives that align with business objectives.
    • Contribute to talent reviews and succession planning for high-potential employees.
  • Communications & Content Creation
    • Partner with the Global HR team to support the development of compelling content (presentations, communications, multimedia) that showcases our culture and values.
    • Create visually engaging PowerPoint presentations when necessary.
  • Reporting & Analytics
    • Prepare and present regular HR metrics and reports to the Global HR team.
    • Maintain accurate HRBP data and ensure data integrity across all HR systems.
Requirements
  • Essential Experience
    • 3-5 years of HR generalist or business partner experience, preferably in professional services or the legal industry.
    • Proven track record managing employee relations cases, grievances, and disciplinary processes.
    • Hands‑on experience conducting exit interviews and translating insights into action.
    • Experience supporting probationary reviews and performance management.
    • Demonstrated success in employee engagement initiatives and culture building.
    • Experience working with a global team.
  • Education & Skills
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
    • Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint for presentation design.
    • Creative mindset with ability to develop innovative HR solutions.
