Job description
The Role

To provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support across Human Resources (HR) and Talent Development functions. This includes managing bursary and scholarship programmes, coordinating training and learning initiatives, maintaining accurate talent and organisational data, and supporting statutory and company reporting requirements. The role ensures effective governance, compliance, and execution of Seriti Green’s people development objectives in alignment with transformation and business strategies.

Key Responsibilities Include
Bursary and Scholarship Programme Administration
  • Coordinate and manage all bursary and scholarship programmes across the group, including Bursars and Scholars (Community, Child of Employee, Trust, and DMR).
  • Maintain accurate student records, contracts, and documentation in compliance with Seriti Green’s governance and policy frameworks.
  • Monitor academic performance, conduct annual student visits and inductions, and maintain ongoing communication with students.
  • Facilitate academic and personal support where required (e.g., tutoring, counselling, or EAP assistance).
  • Administer bursary‑related financial processes, ensuring timely payment of tuition, accommodation, meals, and allowances through approved systems (NOI process and payroll).
Scholarship Programme Administration

Obtain and verify proof of registration, academic results, and fee statements annually.

  • Communicate sponsorship continuation, suspension, or termination decisions to students and tertiary institutions.
  • Coordinate vacation work placements and facilitate practical training for scholars when required for qualification completion.
Training and Development Coordination
  • Support the implementation and tracking of training and development programmes across the business.
  • Research and capture available internal and external training courses, including costings, provider details, and scheduling options.
  • Book, coordinate, and confirm training sessions (virtual, online, or classroom‑based) in line with approved budgets.
  • Maintain accurate training registers, attendance records, and training databases for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Assist with compiling and validating data for Workplace Skills Plan (WSP), Annual Training Report (ATR), and Employment Equity (EE) submissions.
  • Monitor and report on training participation, spend, and completion rates to support governance and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain training platforms and registries to ensure up‑to‑date and auditable records.
  • Adhoc responsibilities as needed.
Talent and Organisational Data Management
  • Ensure all organisational charts are current and accurately reflect approved structures, reporting lines, and vacancies.
  • Maintain data integrity across HR systems, HRIS platforms, and talent databases.
  • Support the Talent team in updating and maintaining succession planning and talent‑pipeline data.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and dashboards for management, board packs, and transformation updates.
  • Contribute to the coordination of talent and development initiatives, including graduate, internship, and bursar programmes.
Governance, Compliance, and Reporting
  • Assist with the SDF function within Seriti Green; liaise with SETA regarding administrative data updates, mandatory and discretionary grant applications and skills programmes administration and updates.
  • Ensure adherence to HR, bursary, and training policies and procedures in alignment with internal governance and legislative frameworks.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) covering bursary, training, and development activities.
  • Support B‑BBEE, SLP, WSP, and EE audit processes by compiling, validating, and submitting supporting documentation.
  • Assist with internal audits, tracking corrective actions, and improving HR process controls related to learning and development.
  • Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards when handling employee, student, and financial information.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Human Resource Development, Human Resource Management, Industrial/Organisational Psychology, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in HR administration, talent management, or learning and development (junior level).
  • Demonstrated experience in HR information systems (HRIS), training coordination, and/or bursary and scholarship programme administration.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience working with SETA’s.
  • Experience working on Sage People 300 advantageous.
  • Understanding of Skills Development, B‑BBEE, and Employment Equity reporting and compliance requirements.
