Introduction
To work with the HR Executive in playing a key role in maintaining a productive & positive work environment through engagement & collaboration. These practices will involve key HR processes, namely: Recruitment, Onboarding, Offboarding, Talent Management, HR Administration and maintaining a harmonious and collaborative work environment, which will assist in driving the people strategy for the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Manage recruitment budget per department
- Review and advise on all job descriptions and KPA's before advertising the role.
- Prepare internal/external advertisement
- Engage with recruitment agencies where necessary
- Screening and shortlisting of candidates
- Communication with managers regarding candidates and interviews
- Plan, schedule and lead interviews
- Communication with candidates or agencies providing timeous feedback
- Ensure that our EE and BBBEE talent measures are met
- Obtain a minimum of 2 reference checks per candidate as well as hiring checks.
- Prepare offer letters, onboarding packs and employment contracts
- Update Recruitment Report
Onboarding and Offboarding
- Schedule employees for Induction programme
- Send onboarding documentation to candidates
- Prepare documentation for payroll to add new employee.
- Introduce new employee to the business and complete new engagement documents with the new starter
- Ensure Exit Interviews are completed for employees leaving the business.
Talent Management
- Manage employee life cycle from beginning to end
- Oversee the Performance Management Process
- Oversee the Succession Planning Process
- Work closely with L & D Manager to develop Individual Development Plans and plan training interventions that support employee Individual Development Plans.
- Company diversity and inclusion/BBBEE strategy must be supported and implemented.
- Support and roll out of talent reviews, career pathing and succession planning for critical roles in the business.
- Ensure Org charts are updated and maintained
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and company culture surveys.
- Plot and maintain employee performance on the 9-box grid.
- Manage and maintain the monthly employee recognition and reward programme
- Manage and maintain the employee long service programme
Reporting and General
- Ensure all employee data is updated e.g. (employee transfers, promotions, line manager details are correct).
- Update monthly HR reports for recruitment, IR etc.
- Roll out of any HR project initiatives requested by HR Exec and Exco
- Maintain EE plan, reporting and annual submissions to DoEL.
- Assist in planning and arranging Employee Wellness Day and other wellness initiatives.
- Prepare and arrange for Long Service and awards, year-end functions and other HR events in the business.
- Assist in arranging annual medical aid and pension fund roadshows.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Degree in HR Management
- Good understanding of South African labour legislation and best practices.
- At least 5 years HR Generalist experience.
- Minimum 5 years technical experience in a similar role.
