HUMAN RESOURCE ADMINISTRATOR

JANUARY 2026

The school wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual to the position of Human Resource Administrator

Purpose of the Role:

The HR Administrator will support the HR department by managing documentation, coordinating processes, and maintaining accurate records, all while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process, including placing job advertisements, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Draft employment contracts and offer letters in line with school policies.
  • Verify candidate documentation and ensure compliance with employment regulations.
  • Prepare and manage all documentation related to employee movements, including promotions, transfers, resignations, and terminations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of exit documentation
  • Collect and verify monthly payroll inputs such as leave records, overtime, and changes in employee status.
  • Liaise with the Payroll Service Provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Address payroll-related queries from staff and ensure resolution in a professional manner.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date employee files, in accordance with POPI Act requirements.
  • Track and update employee data including personal details, job titles, and contract terms.
  • Ongoing refinement of HR policies, procedures, and systems. Ensure all HR-related documents are consistently formatted and aligned with the school’s approved templates and standards.
  • Drive the standardization of policies across departments to promote clarity, compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR administrative practices to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Proven experience in an HR administrative role, preferably within an educational or similar professional environment.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Relevant HR or administrative qualification or certification will be advantageous.
  • An understanding of the LRA, and BCEA acts.
  • Highly organised, and manage multiple tasks efficiently with attention to detail.
