About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Capital Business Partner (HCBP) to play a critical role in driving people strategy and organisational performance. This role partners closely with executive leadership and line management to translate business objectives into effective human capital solutions.
The successful candidate will combine strong business acumen with deep human capital expertise, supporting talent management, organisational development, employee engagement, performance management, and workforce optimisation across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Human Capital Leadership
- Partner with executives and line managers to understand business needs and deliver aligned people solutions
- Use HR metrics, analytics, and insights to inform workforce planning and decision-making
- Support organisational design, culture development, and change management initiatives
- Coach and influence leaders to make effective, risk-aware people decisions
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies for critical and high-impact roles
- Partner with leaders on workforce planning and succession planning
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment for key positions, ensuring a positive candidate experience
- Equip line managers with best-practice recruitment and sourcing techniques
Human Capital Processes & Systems
- Oversee HR systems and ensure data integrity across the employee lifecycle
- Review, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with legislation and best practice
- Optimise onboarding, employee lifecycle, and offboarding processes
- Leverage AI and digital tools to enhance HR reporting and efficiency
Employee Engagement & Organisational Culture
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and action plans
- Develop and analyse employee surveys and feedback mechanisms
- Lead recognition, reward, and performance incentive initiatives
- Support a values-driven, inclusive, and high-performance culture
Learning & Development
- Design and implement leadership and talent development strategies
- Oversee training initiatives to address skills gaps and career development
- Support succession planning and leadership pipeline development
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and development
Performance, Rewards & Benefits
- Oversee performance management cycles and support managers in goal-setting and feedback
- Advise on compensation and benefits strategies and benchmarking
- Manage relationships with pension fund and medical aid providers
- Ensure compliant administration of employee benefits
Wellness, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
- Lead employee wellness initiatives supporting physical, mental, and emotional well-being
- Drive DEI strategies embedded across recruitment, development, and leadership practices
- Promote equity and address systemic barriers to inclusion
Compliance, Reporting & Employee Relations
- Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation and HR governance standards
- Manage employee relations matters, providing guidance and mediation where required
- Prepare HR reports, track metrics, and manage HC-related risks
- Monitor budgets, procurement processes, and service provider SLAs
Digital Transformation & Sustainability
- Support organisational transformation through data-driven insights and digital tools
- Identify efficiency and cost-optimisation opportunities
- Embrace AI-driven tools and automation to enhance HR service delivery
- Contribute to sustainability and risk management initiatives
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Social Sciences, or related field (Essential)
- Postgraduate qualification (Honours/Diploma) in HR, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or similar
- Professional registration with HPCSA, SABPP, or a related body (Essential)
Experience
- 7–10 years’ experience in Human Resources
- Minimum of 5 years in a strategic HR Business Partner or senior HR role
- Proven experience partnering with senior leadership
- Strong background in talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, and rewards
- Experience leading DEI and organisational culture initiatives
Knowledge & Skills
- Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation
- Expertise in HR systems, policies, and analytics
- Understanding of Learning & Development, Skills Development, BBBEE, POPIA, and employee wellness frameworks
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing, and change management skills.
