Job summary

WSP Africa is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to support HSSE across the region. The role includes planning medical examinations, coordinating safety training, and maintaining inspections and records.

Occasional site visits are required to provide on-site guidance and ensure compliance. The candidate will support project teams with HSE plans, contribute to tender information, and assist with HSSE reporting and audits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards and SA legislation.
• Experience in health and safety administration and project support.
• Ability to develop and maintain HSSE documentation and records.

Responsibilities

• Support the Regional Health & Safety Lead in managing health, safety, security and environment for the region.
• Plan and facilitate periodic medical examinations and health and safety-related training and maintain associated records.
• Schedule and monitor premises inspections by Health and Safety Representatives, collate findings and monitor actions.
• Assist opportunity pursuit teams with statistics and information relating to the WSP HSSE management system for tender compilation.
• Assist project teams with the compilation of project health and safety management plans and associated tools and documentation.
• Undertake periodic site visits to provide on-site support and guidance.
• Assist with maintaining records for the WSP Africa health and safety management system and preparing for and facilitating external audits.
• Assist with monitoring HSSE reporting and compiling monthly statistics
