Main Purpose

What you will enjoy doing

The HSE officer will be responsible for daily monitoring, reporting and awareness of health, safety & environment tasks in the plant.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Administer and coordinate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs across all operational areas.
  • Roll out and facilitate HSE initiatives, including safety inductions and technical guidance, to enhance awareness and proactively identify and mitigate risks on-site.
  • Conduct safety and health training for employees and supervisors to embed a culture that prioritizes HSE, aiming to reduce risks and associated costs.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports, updates, and incident data to the Senior HSE Officer and HSE Manager SSA.
  • Participate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections to detect unsafe conditions or practices, with follow-up reports and corrective action plans.
  • Review and update job-specific risk assessments (routine and non-routine), ensuring effective implementation of control measures.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with HSE contractual obligations, including supervision, safety awareness, and documented risk controls.
  • Evaluate fire risks across all plant areas, recommending appropriate fire protection systems, manual extinguishers, and firewater networks based on hazard types and coverage needs.
  • Ensure ongoing functionality and accessibility of firefighting equipment through routine inspections and maintenance follow-ups.
  • Maintain and communicate the plant's emergency response plan, ensuring readiness through regular training and drills for emergency response teams.
