Job summary

Impala Terminals Group is seeking an HSE Coordinator to support the Regional HSE Manager across Dry Bulk and Liquid Bulk operations. You will assist Transport Managers and Operations Managers with risk assessments, incident investigations and ISO management system activities.

You will coordinate third‑party transporter onboarding, conduct audits and drive corrective actions to closure, while reporting monthly HSE performance and trends to senior management.

Qualifications

• Requires a recognised diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Quality Management, Engineering or related HSE field.
• Five to ten years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in transport, logistics, terminals, warehousing or industrial operations.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and internal auditing.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HSE support and advice to Transport Managers and Operations Managers; include risk assessments and compliance requirements.
• Support safe management of road transport, loading, unloading, warehouse and related logistics activities.
• Conduct planned HSE visits and inspections; document findings and close corrective actions.
• Coordinate HSE onboarding and approval of third-party transporters; review compliance and controls.
• Perform on-site HSE audits; prepare reports and issue non-conformances where needed.
• Lead or support incident investigations using root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Prepare investigation reports and present findings to senior management; track actions to closure.
• Maintain ISO management system documentation and support external audits and certifications.
• Produce monthly HSE performance reports and trend analyses for management review.
• Ensure incidents and near misses involving third parties are reported within required timelines.
