Job description
Overview

HR Officer (JB5696) — Location: Booysens Reserve, Johannesburg South. Salary: R30 - 45 000 per month (Experience dependent). Employment Type: Permanent (with 3–6 month probation).

Our client is a well-established manufacturing group that has been operating for over two decades. The company forms part of a larger industrial consortium and supplies high-quality components to leading manufacturers across South Africa.

The HR Officer will take ownership of day-to-day HR administration, employee relations, and compliance across three operating entities. This role focuses on maintaining accurate time and attendance data, preparing payroll inputs, ensuring compliance with two bargaining councils, and supporting a fair and transparent disciplinary process. You will work closely with the Financial Manager, Factory Management, and Group HR to ensure all HR practices, contracts, and policies align with company and ISO standards. The environment is practical and production-driven, requiring a hands-on professional who can manage details, maintain structure, and support operational stability.

This is not a corporate-level or strategy-focused HR Business Partner position. It does not involve organisational restructuring, transformation, or managing a large HR team. Instead, this is a practical, hands-on operational HR role where accuracy, consistency, and compliance take priority. The HR Officer will handle administrative and compliance tasks directly, ensuring smooth coordination between HR, payroll, and factory operations.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned HR generalist who values stability and long-term commitment over career climbing. You are detail-oriented, structured, and assertive, with a natural ability to manage compliance and people-related processes calmly and effectively.

Key responsibilities, requirements, and compliance considerations reflect the scope of a hands-on, production-focused HR role.
