We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on HR Manager to oversee the full human resources function across our operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving people initiatives, managing recruitment and employee relations, ensuring compliance, and maintaining a positive and productive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, including drafting job adverts, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and managing the selection process.
- Draft and issue offers of employment.
- Oversee onboarding, including medical aid and retirement fund registrations.
- Conduct induction catch‑ups and regular employee check‑ins.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Manage employee files and ensure accurate HR recordkeeping.
- Liaise with labour brokers; conduct weekly meetings and oversee casual labour management.
- Handle disciplinary matters — investigations, hearings, counselling, and ensuring consistency with company policies and disciplinary codes.
- Conduct exit interviews and ensure feedback is implemented where applicable.
- Manage and represent the company in CCMA cases — including preparation, documentation, and representation.
- Ensure compliance with the NBCRFLI Embomvu audit annually.
Policy, Training & Development
- Draft and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Plan and deliver monthly training sessions for administrative staff, including development of training materials.
- Coordinate performance reviews and manage grading and salary scale structures.
- Oversee December/January leave planning in collaboration with department managers.
Leadership & Coordination
- Manage the HR Department and support HR initiatives across all branches (including the Johannesburg branch).
- Maintain strong relationships with managers and staff across departments.
- Facilitate monthly departmental meetings and ensure effective communication of HR updates and initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years’ HR generalist experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Solid knowledge of labour legislation, disciplinary processes, and CCMA procedures.
- Experience drafting and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HR information systems.
