We are looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to join our team in a fast-paced environment.
This role is practical, people-focused, and requires someone who can independently manage the full HR function.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, Implement & Maintain HR Policies and Procedures.
- Recruitment, Selection & Employee Lifecycle Management: Manage the full recruitment cycle, including onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
- Oversee all stages of the employee lifecycle from hiring to exit.
- Labour Relations & Disciplinary Matters: Handle IR issues, disciplinary matters, and represent the company at CCMA hearings as necessary.
- Employment Equity: Ensure compliance with Employment Equity legislation and coordinate reporting and meetings.
- BEE Compliance: Assist with BEE audits and ensure ongoing BEE compliance.
- Skills Development: Manage and support skills development initiatives, including coordinating training.
- Book and collect training data, capture on HR system, and assist with SARACCA & WSP / ATR submissions.
- WCA / ROE, IOD Claims & Health and Safety: Handle Workers' Compensation (WCA), ROE calculations, IOD claims, and collaborate with Health & Safety to ensure a safe workplace.
- Employee Performance: Manage performance reviews, track performance ratings, and ensure compliance with employee contracts.
- General HR Duties: Oversee all general HR administration and people-related tasks.
- Payroll Management: Verify payroll figures and prepare for submission to management (provided by payroll clerk).
- Process month‑end payroll payments. Prepare and submit EMP on SARS e‑filing.
- Update the CTC spreadsheet for remuneration changes.
- Draft and update the bonus schedule (December) and salary increase schedule (July) for approval.
Skills & Experience
- Qualification: HR Diploma / Degree (or equivalent).
- Experience: 5+ years’ HR experience, ideally in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Legislation Knowledge: Solid understanding of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EE Act, B‑BBEE, Bargaining Council agreements).
- Employee Relations: Experience handling employee relations, including union engagement and CCMA processes.
- Advantageous: Familiarity with MERSETA processes and the skills development landscape.
- HR Software Experience: Proficiency in payroll software (Payspace, ERS Bio – experience would be beneficial).
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other HR software applications.
- Interpersonal & Analytical Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- High attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to manage shifting priorities and tasks.
