An International Engineering Company seeks an HR Manager in Gauteng, South Africa. The role involves developing HR strategies, managing local and expatriate employees, and ensuring compliance with South African labor laws. Candidates need a degree in Human Resources and at least 5 years of experience in HR within multinational companies. A strong understanding of the South African market and visa policies is essential.
We have a HR Manager position available in the Fourways area for an International Engineering Company (South Africa Focus).
Candidates are expected to be able to perform the following: Develop human resource strategies tailored to the company's engineering business objectives in South Africa.
Focus on recruitment, development, retention, and performance management of both local South African employees and expatriates to ensure human resource allocation meets project schedule requirements.
Lead local talent recruitment in South Africa, engage with local recruitment channels and handle applications for South African work visas and residence permits for expatriates to ensure compliance.
Design a compensation and benefits system that complies with South Africa's Labor Relations Act and Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
Organize targeted training programs, including cross-cultural integration training for South Africa (e.g., racial equality, local business etiquette) Address employee relations issues in the South African workplace, mediate labor disputes in accordance with the Labor Relations Act, engage in negotiations with trade unions and maintain a harmonious working atmosphere within the cross-border team.
Candidates require the following to qualify for this position.
Bachelor's degree or above in Human Resources Management, International Business, or related fields.
At least 5 years of human resources experience in multinational enterprises or international engineering companies.
Experience in managing local South African employees or providing HR support for engineering projects in South Africa is mandatory.
Familiarity with the South African recruitment market and visa policies for foreign employees is required.
Proficient in South Africa's labor laws and regulations, such as the Labor Relations Act and Employment Equity Act.
Strong cross-cultural communication skills, trade union negotiation skills, and problem-solving abilities.
