We’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead the end-to-end people function across multiple operational sites. You’ll partner with leadership and line managers to build a high-performance, compliant and people-centred culture.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role — the HR Manager will oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, manage the HR Administrator, and provide guidance to line managers across the organisation. The position requires a proactive leader who can balance compliance, operational excellence, and employee engagement in a multi-site environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, SOPs, manuals, and compliance in line with BCEA, LRA, EE Act, OHSA, POPIA, and other relevant legislation.
  • Work closely with Finance on payroll inputs, remuneration reviews, HR budgets, and reporting accuracy.
  • Manage all employment contracts and employee relations matters (disciplinary, grievance, performance, retrenchment, mediation).
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment and structured onboarding programmes.
  • Lead probation, performance reviews, and KPI alignment across teams.
  • Develop and manage Personal Development Plans (PDPs), training, and career growth initiatives.
  • Drive culture and engagement initiatives that strengthen staff morale and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with EE and BBBEE requirements and reporting.
  • Partner with leadership to align HR strategy to organisational goals and scaling requirements.
  • Champion digital HR tools and process automation to improve HR service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organisational Psychology, or related field.
  • 5–7 years’ progressive HR experience, including more than 2 years at a managerial or business partner level.
  • Demonstrated experience managing an HR Administrator or small HR team.
  • Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, POPIA, OHSA).
  • Experience working closely with Finance on payroll and HR budgeting.
  • Experience managing multi-site operations and supporting 100+ employees.
  • Proven expertise in HR compliance, employee relations, and organisational development.
  • Advantageous: Experience in healthcare, non-profit, or professional services sectors.
Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent advisory and coaching capability for management and staff.
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and integrity.
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Technologically adaptable with experience in HR systems, data, and analytics.
  • Ability to work independently.
