Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee payroll duties and ensure compliance with South African Labour laws. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of HR experience, including 5 years in a managerial role. Responsibilities include managing payroll processes, reviewing HR functions, and preparing compliance reports. A post-matric HR qualification and proficiency in IsiZulu are advantageous. This role is based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

  • 10 years experience in HR, with 5 years in supervisory or managerial role.
  • Good understanding of South African Labour Legislation.
  • Experience with the Bargaining Council for Civil Engineering Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee payroll duties including processing of payroll for all employees.
  • Review payroll-related functions submitted by HR Administrators.
  • Prepare annual Employment Equity report.

Job description
Key Performance Areas
  • Manage and Oversee Payroll duties including accurate and timeous processing of payroll including normal and overtime pay for all employees
  • Manage and review all payroll-related functions submitted by the HR Administrators
  • Identify and correct all occupational info, leave balance and engagement and or termination errors before final processing of payroll
  • Prepare and submit the Annual Employment Equity report to the Department of Employment and Labour
  • Ensure the Companys adherence to the Skills Development Act including constituting the Skills Development Committee (SDC)
  • Assist in preparation for internal and external audits relating to BBB-EE, Employment Equity Act and Skills Development Act
Requirements
  • Post-matric HR tertiary qualification
  • A Bachelors degree will be an added advantage
  • Computer literacy including payroll systems and processes, preferably Buildsmart, Fusion and Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in IsiZulu both written and spoken will be an added advantage
Experience
  • At least 10-years experience in HR with at least 5-years in a supervisory or managerial level
  • Good knowledge and applied understanding of the South African Labour Legislation and the Bargaining Council for the Civil Engineering Industry (BCCEI)
