Our dynamic, Hout Bay based client is a rapidly growing company in the heart of the fishing industry dedicated to operational excellence and the fishing community. We’re seeking a skilled and experienced HR and Payroll Administrator to contribute to their commitment to excellence.
Duties
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance and smooth transitions
- Support the implementation and communication of company HR policies and procedures
- Monitor compliance with labour legislation, including BCEA, COIDA, and sector-specific regulations
- Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll and HR-related queries, escalating where necessary
- Process full payroll for all related companies
- Complete reports and submit all statutory returns (monthly and annual), including PAYE, UIF, SDL, IRP5, and other internal and external reports
- Maintain employment contracts and employee records
- Monitor and maintain attendance systems; experience with electronic timekeeping will be an advantage
- Assist with Workmen’s Compensation claims
- Prepare and process disciplinary and grievance documentation as required by management and IR consultants
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of labour legislation and its practical application
- Comfortable working with external consultants and internal stakeholders on HR initiatives
- Proficient in Sage VIP Payroll
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll administration and HR
- Self-managed and able to work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Able work in Hout Bay, Monday to Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m.
- Experience in the fishing industry will be an advantage
Remuneration
- Salary : R30,000 – R35,000 per month
