Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Junior HR Officer in Cape Town to support the HR Supervisor with various administrative tasks. The role involves maintaining employee records, assisting with onboarding, handling HR queries, and ensuring compliance with labor legislation. Ideal candidates will have over 3 years of HR administration experience, relevant qualifications, and strong communication skills. This position offers a full-time, permanent contract with market-related remuneration.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in HR administration or officer-level roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of BCEA, LRA, EEA, and OSHA.
  • Knowledge of Sage 300 People, ESS, and TracTech is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding and induction processes for new hires.
  • Maintain and update physical and digital employee records.
  • Track and process absenteeism, leave, and related HR queries.
  • Support employees and managers with first-line HR queries.
  • Assist with investigations, grievance handling, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Compile and submit statutory HR reports and statistics.
  • Handle IOD reporting, medical bookings, and claims follow-ups.
  • Coordinate alcohol/drug testing procedures with third-party providers.
  • Support various HR projects and administrative functions.
