The Environmental Services department in this multi-service facility makes a difference every day in the lives of over 40 patients and long-term care residents by completing professional routine cleaning and disinfection in all patients, public and office areas with excellent customer service.
As a casual employee, you can take shifts around your schedule, allowing you the freedom to set your own work-life balance.
Our shifts have various start times: mornings; afternoons; and evenings.
The Housekeeping Worker I is responsible for the provision of care in accordance with established operating standards, policies and procedures of Covenant Health and the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital.
The Housekeeping Worker I is accountable to perform their duties in alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Covenant Health and the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital.
The Housekeeping Worker I interacts compassionately and respectfully with patients, residents, co‑workers’ supervisors and managers.
The Housekeeping Worker is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting public, patient and office areas including the collection of waste.
This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE General Support Services Collective Agreement.

Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Possess good time management skills, able to follow directions, work to deadlines and has attention for detail.
Capable to meet the physical demands of the position; frequently required to lift weights up to 30 pounds (13.6 kg).
Strong interpersonal skills and training in customer relations.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to follow directions and guidelines.
High standards for cleanliness and sanitation.
Good attention to detail.
Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality and high levels of honesty and integrity.
Provide a clear Criminal Records Check.
Competent computer skills a good portion training and education is on‑line.
Ability to perform specialized cleaning procedures in isolation areas: OR, patient rooms, isolation rooms, etc. – training provided.
High School Diploma.
Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare setting.
WHMIS Training.
