We’re seeking a Maintenance Foreman, reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, to lead and coordinate the hotels maintenance team. This role is key to ensuring our property operates to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • Trade Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing (Red Seal preferred).
  • Additional leadership, supervisory, or OHS training advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in building maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Hospitality or luxury property experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
  • Proven leadership ability with experience in delegation, scheduling, and team motivation.
  • Proficiency in CMMS systems (OMNI, INFOR, HotSOS).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages an advantage.
  • Must hold a valid South African ID.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Team Supervision & Scheduling: Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, conduct briefings, and ensure attendance and conduct standards.
  • Technical Oversight: Guide technicians in troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues; review completed work for quality and safety.
  • Preventive & Reactive Maintenance: Ensure PPM schedules are met; manage reactive maintenance tasks via OMNI with timely follow-up and closure.
  • Safety, Compliance & Standards: Enforce health and safety regulations; conduct risk assessments and incident reports when required.
  • Inventory & Tools Management: Oversee tools, equipment, and consumables; ensure accountability and readiness of resources.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Act as the point of contact for other departments; coordinate access for maintenance tasks in guest and public areas.
  • Training & Development: Mentor junior staff, correct unsafe practices, and identify skills gaps for training.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain handover logs, submit daily reports, and ensure compliance documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Guest Area Protocol: Ensure professional conduct, privacy, and minimal disruption during maintenance in guest spaces.
